Discover the power of helping neighbors
Transform Together: unlock the ultimate renovation connection with HomeFix Hub – Where locals meet to make homes happen!

Connect for renovations
Finding local neighbors to help or join renovation projects with a web app based on a conversation with a potential user.
Privet concept of a product. The idea arose from the owners' interest in renovating old houses. During the conversations, it turned out that most of the work was done by acquaintances and friends.
Why not extend it to your neighbors?

Goal
Designing an easy and transparent platform for the local community.
Challenge
Based on short talks with 5 person:
USABILITY: Ensuring the tool is user-friendly and intuitive,
so users can easily navigate.
SAFETY MATTERS: Letting strangers into our homes.
FINDING THE RIGHT FIT: Wasting time on someone who can't do anything.
Homepage
The best suiting approach will be a simple landing page structure; introducing a description in the form of 3 simple steps makes it seem more user-friendly; to increase trust, adding social proof (reviews) and a small selection of the platform's appearance. At the end of the page I placed a "call to action" section.

Board Page
Searching is the main function of this platform, which is why I placed it in the most prominent spot: toggle for easy switch between two kinds of users; clean and readable table with search results; various filtering options - like in e-commerce shops, which most users know how to operate.

Form Page
Simply, a 2-step form (for decreasing cognitive overload) with instant and clear information from the system.

Profile view
To build trust only logged user can see all the information; finding the right candidate is ensured by entering "about me" and reviews; 2-column layout for the clearest dividing of the informations.

User profile
Same 2-column layout as on profile view for consistency; option to easily switch between two kinds of users; the ability to report the need for help instead of just searching; additional option for handyperson ensuring independency as a help provider (giving user full control over availability).

Responsiveness
The platform does not have a dedicated application, so the standard approach is to remain responsive.
Takeways
USABILITY
No unnecessary functionalities, simplified navigation, focusing on user presentation in order to create a trusted community.
Useful = usability + utility
SAFETY
This is a very complex issue because there can be thousands of reasons for possible "fear" of using this application. One of them could be no money evolve...interesting... To discover why they might be afraid to use this app, we may use surveys with potential users or face-to-face interviews. Because this is only a product concept, those weren't conducted.
FINDING THE RIGHT FIT
Providing the basic information is a must. To make it even more effective, I introduce a profile page to ensure more information and the possibility of contacting or writing a helpful review.
